January 2013 News

Last summer, Festiva announced the acquisition of the Festiva Orlando Resort, formerly known as Celebration World Resort, in Kissimmee, Fla. As part of the acquisition, Festiva made the commitment to fix the various issues at the resort with financial contributions for renovations as well drastic operational changes and improvements.

Festiva’s commitment to making much-needed improvements to the property and its operations speaks directly to the company’s purpose: We are passionately committed to improving people’s lives by providing a lifetime of travel, vacations and priceless memories. The ultimate goal is to improve the resort so its owners and guests can enjoy the quality vacations they expect and deserve.

At this time we are thrilled to report that several improvements have been completed at the property as part of the multi-million-dollar refurbishment and renovations project. These changes will ensure that the more than 11,000 resort owners have the quality accommodations and amenities that they expect and deserve.

All buildings at the resort including the clubhouse and pool bath house have been completely repainted and new signage has been installed throughout the property, giving guests an immediate warm welcome to the resort. The landscaping throughout the property has been refurbished, and free Wi-Fi access has been installed in all of the units for members and guests.

Interior renovations to all units in two of the buildings have been completed with all new, décor, appliances, flat-screen televisions, countertops, furniture, soft goods, carpeting and paint. To execute the “vintage Florida” interior design theme for the renovations of the units, Festiva has called on the Star Group Company, who has provided design services for many of Festiva’s resorts that have undergone renovations.

Festiva’s vigorous efforts to improve both behind-the-scenes operational aspects of the HOA as well as more obvious renovations to the property and its units is based on previous experiences of Festiva’s seasoned executives as well as feedback from the resort employees and its owners. A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and high-quality vacation accommodations is transforming this resort from an unremarkable spot on Orlando’s map to a home away from home that owners will be proud to call their own, and guests will want to return to year after year in one of the best vacation destinations in the country.

Festiva Hospitality Group employees raise over $20,000 for Asheville charity

Festiva Hospitality Group is proud to announce that our 9th Annual Holiday Charity Auction, held Wed., Dec. 12, at Festiva’s headquarters in Asheville, was a record-breaking success. Festiva employees once again worked together to donate more than 350 items, and raised a total of $20,000.

All proceeds from Festiva’s auction go to the Asheville-Buncombe Community Christian Ministries (ABCCM) to benefit the children of families that are struggling as so many are during this holiday season. This year, the ABCCM focused on helping families in the Asheville area who recently experienced unexpected job loss. As in past years, Festiva will match the amount raised by employees and will put that into the Festiva Charitable Fund, a flexible endowment fund managed by the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina.

“We’re so thrilled that we can help more families than ever this year,” said Sabrina Green, Festiva’s Contracts Supervisor and head of the auction committee. “This event is always heartwarming as it shows how willing our employees are to help those in need, and we are especially blessed that we can do so while the economy is difficult for many.”

This year’s auction was a joint effort between Festiva employees as well as those from Festiva’s new exchange partner, Resort Travel & Xchange (RTX), also based in Asheville. Approximately 130 Festiva and RTX employees participated in this year’s event by contributing, purchasing items and/or volunteering time to organize the auction, shop and deliver toys to ABCCM.

Festiva and RTX would like to extend sincere gratitude to several area businesses who contributed to our auction this year with generous donations including: Main Street Inn & Spa, Blue Ridge Village, Peppertree Atlantic Beach, Animate Fitness, Prestigious Mark, Allegra Print & Imaging, Kutter’s Edge, Fat Cat’s, Brother Wolf, Roman’s Deli, Marque Gritta, Linda McCane, Joseph Hurwitz, Leanna Terrell, Kathy Cardillo, Gene Rice Studio, Amanda Berk Photography, Trevor Stoia, Kelley Poff, Jimmi Carni, Anderson Nissan, Twisted Crepe, Computer Mechanix, Harvest Records, A Show of Hands Salon, Judd Pires, Fired Up Creative Lounge, Asheville City Market, Bellagio Bistro, Eric Lorette Photography, ImageSmith Communications, Malaprop’s, Biltmore House, Texas Roadhouse, Caroline Eye Care, Bevin Coffee, Davenport Vines, Hillside Games, Laura’s Kitchen, Mail Management, FedEx/Forrest Nelson, Pepsi Co., Mona Lisa Food Products, The Star Group Company, Coca-Cola and Budweiser.

As a result of the auction, Festiva and RTX sponsored 14 families and purchased $10,000 in other toys for ABCCM. With new families signing up each month that have never needed assistance before, the ABCCM needs help from the community more than ever this year. Festiva employees also shopped for the families and toys and delivered them to the charity on December 17. Festiva would also like to give special recognition to Dancing Bear Toys who gave Festiva and RTX shoppers 15% off of everything purchased with our auction proceeds.
